| My childhood memories are of creativity and making things come alive. My brother and I would borrow Dads old cine camera and experiement with animation. Plasticine and action men would frequently walk around the table in a stilted but enchanting way and we would make our own jingles on a small tape recorder to accompany our mini movies. Science Fiction and space were a common place fascination and those early magical feelings stay with me in the work I do today as an adult. I moved on from animation to Theatre productions, winning The Sarah Griffiths Shield for sustained improvisation and accreditation for set design and contributions to script writing. My desire was to continue into stage direction and opera production but injury forced me to take on a more conventional career and I forged a successful niche in the world of Law and Finance. Although times were good and I obtained professional qualifications I yearned for the creative me.To feed that hunger I continued with my writing and received recognition for short stories, poetry and longer emotive pieces. I was able to convey what I saw in the world around me from the use of my thoughts and words. It was during this period that I picked up the camera again, this time in the form of stills. Suddenly I was able to show as well as describe, it was a defining moment for me. I moved onto taking portraits and still life and showcasing my writing and pictures under my own website. |

| I then joined the Royal Photographic Society and worked to obtain a Licentiate from them. My panel which showed emotions and told a story was considered to be good enough to warrant being publised in Portfolio One. The book which has been sold internationally is a representation of 21st century photography and something that I am proud to be part of. It was whilst working towards the Licentiate that I met Ken. His style of thinking and excitement for creation matched mine, throw in the love of science fiction and we quickly decided that we had to work together. Working on shoots with Ken in the USA was very gratifying. I found myself directing an actress under the Hollywood sign and the walk of fame and in the thick of Star Trek characters with cameras in hand in Las Vegas. Could that actually be classed as work I wonder?....smile. Now with Ken, I feel that I have come home back creating as I should be. The experience I had animating and composing as a child has come full circle and I find myself using the latest technology in the form of advanced software, HD cameras, mixers and keyboards to produce work. The way I create has changed somewhat but I still feel that magical element. Ken and I have a diverse range of skills and the uniqueness of a male and female perspective. We both share the desire to provide the very best. |
